Groningen’s Historic Churches Foundation is dedicated to restoring, maintaining and (re)using monumental churches and their organs and churchyards. It now owns 91 churches, towers and churchyards. This is quite a challenge and it requires a huge investment of time, commitment and money.

If you don’t hear from us within a week after signing up please contact us via 050-3123569. You can become a donor for as little as € 25,00 per year. As a donor you are entitled to a discount on all of the foundation’s activities and publications. You will also receive the magazine ‘Groninger Kerken’ four times a year. During the first year the magazine will be sent to you free of charge.
Fortunately there are many people like us who are passionate about saving Groningen’s churches. Our many volunteers do a great deal of work and numerous organizations provide continuity and support as well as funding, and their help is indispensable. But in order to safeguard the enormous cultural and historical value of these churches and improve their usability your support would be more than welcome. This can be done in different ways and we have outlined them for you. Please find one that suits you best.
The Stichting Oude Groninger Kerken has been recognized as a charity by the CBF, the Central Bureau on Fundraising (a Dutch regulatory authority), it has a CBF certificate and it is registered as an ANBI, a Public Benefit Organization. As a Public Benefit Organization we are exempt from Gift Tax and Inheritance Tax. The Stichting Oude Groninger Kerken, Groningen’s Historic Churches Foundation, is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 41009261.
